1980 : Began in Manufacturing
They founded Computer Software Corporation in 1980, and applied their IT backgrounds in mainframe software to developing a family of integrated products for use on smaller computers. Their products included Inventory Control, Job Management, Accounting and Sales Lead Management, and initially ran under the CP/M operating system and later under DOS. These products were installed in manufacturing companies throughout the U.S. and Canada.
1985: Added Bar Code Scanning
In 1985, they pioneered the use of barcode scanners on the shop floor by using them to track Work-in-Process, and collect labor and job data.
1993 : Released the SPEDE System
By 1993, automotive suppliers were becoming a critical part of their market. They developed the SPEDE System, and introduced it 1993 with a 22-plant installation for a Tier 1 auto supplier.
2005 : Integrated RFID
As an alternative to barcode scanning, in 2005 they integrated RFID into their SPEDE System applications.
Today: They are SPEDE Technologies
Today their solutions are built on a wide variety of wireless technologies built on RFID and 802.11b platforms. To convey their leadership as a technology solution provider, and to highlight their SPEDE System software, they adopted the trade name of SPEDE Technologies. The SPEDE System is the foundation of all inventory and plant floor control solutions that they implement.
As Always - their Focus Is on Your Success
Their focus has never changed: To provide innovative technology-based solutions that enable their clients to increase their efficiency, profitability and competitive edge.
The original partners of Computer Software Corporation are still leading the company today. They have an experienced and dedicated staff of professionals, including automotive consultants, systems analysts, developers and support personnel - each of whom has 15+ years of IT and business experience in manufacturing and distribution.
They are a privately-held Ohio corporation, and have financed their growth and R&D through revenue, not venture capital.
