Pointeq was established in 1990 as Ultra Office Automation CC. Historically the company focused on the general supply of hardware, software and PC training as well as maintenance and repair of hardware. In 1995 the strategic focus of the company was changed to the retail market. In November 2000 the company name was changed to Pointeq Technologies (Pty) Ltd. The Pointeq Trademark is registered and they as such brand their products with this name. Pointeq manufactures specialised retail products and also imports a comprehensive range of its own products from international manufacturers.
