Tag/Card Programming
The programming can be facilitated via the mid range reader or the hand held reader. The tag data can be follows:
- Part Numbers
- Respective Quantity
- Location ID
- Calibration
- Warranty/Expiry
- Any other data which can be required offline
The card is programmed in the same manner and can store:
- Card holders ID number
- Card holders name
- Access rights
- Designation / Department
Issue process for items in Bins
- Upon receipt of the material request the store keeper will search for the location ID of the bin in which the required part number in stored. He will walk to the respective rack and shelf. The respective rack and shelf can be reconfirmed using the Hand Held Reader. The available quantity is displayed on the hand held. The required quantity is then picked up the transaction is updated on the Bin RFID tag. The bin tag now stores the new available quantity. This transaction flat file is uploaded in ERP.
- These parts are taken to the issue counter where they are issued against the RFID card of the borrower using the MID range reader.
Return Process for items in Bin
When the borrower is returning the parts, its issue is checked using the RFID card. These parts can be returned in full or partial issued quantity. The location ID is searched for and verified using the Hand held reader and the Bin RFID tag is updated with the new quantity available after the return process. This transaction file is also uploaded in ERP.
Issue/Return of Rotables
Certain high value items are stored in the shelves. The serial number of this item is mapped with the location ID of the RFID tag on the Shelf/Rack.
Searching
A particular part, shelf, rack can be searched for using the hand held reader.
Stock Tracking
The hand held reader has to be walked around the bins in close vicinity of the RFID labels. The serial numbers of the labels is read and the flat file is uploaded for reconciliation with the ERP database. Thus stock taking process becomes easy, effective and efficient.
EAS
When a Tagged item such as tool kit/case is issued, the EAS bit on the RFID tag is disabled. If the EAS is not disabled the RFID tag will trigger an alarm when it is moving through the magnetic field between the gate antenna in stalled at the exit. The EAS is again enabled when the item is returned to the store.
