If you have fundamental pattern making knowledge then you have the skills to create them more accurately & grade quicker with FashionCAD.

To explain how it works - in simplistic terms you create a 'master' set of patterns for a specific design - either by modifying one of the basic blocks which they supply, or by free-hand drafting on-screen using the extensive CAD tools supplied, or by photographing one of your existing patterns and on screen digitizing pattern lines and curves over the top of the image pixels.

Then from a table of your measurement distances the software will automatically create the size(s), or made-to-measure size, you require.

You then detail as necessary with text, notches, seams, motifs, etc and then create your marker and print it out.

FashionCAD will run on any PC running any Windows version (with a 3 button mouse - Microsoft/Logitech scroll mouse).

You can print patterns/markers at any scale to any connected printer for which a windows driver is installed.

FashionCAD can 'tile' the output in paged sized pieces but they recommend that you buy the widest printer/plotter you can afford which has a roll-feed option.

Then for example you can print a 45" wide pattern/marker in two 'strips' on a 24" wide printer.

You don't need an expensive digitizer table - just access to a good digital camera - to capture existing paper patterns.

Innovative
Fashion CAD's approach to grading is to "re-think" in computer terms the way, and how grading is done. For example grading complex curves is achieved automatically by just entering the measurement distance between its end points and Fashion CAD looks after everything in-between.

All you need is Fashion CAD, a PC, a digital camera and a printer/plotter. You can photograph existing paper patterns then on-screen digitize them - so you do not need an expensive digitizing table.
